A Public Relations person in a public,tax funded school district. You have to be kidding me. What a waste of money. This whole State needs turned upside down and shaken until all the rats are gone. Waste, waste and more waste means taxes,taxes and higher taxes.

How can someone not comply with a Right to Know request…isn’t that a Federal Law???
I guess I can’t be surprised though, if the school & officials involved wouldn’t even help the family & swept this clear under the rug so the public wouldn’t find out, then I am sure they will try to keep all of this hidden for as long as they can.

This poor family, I can not even fathom how horrible this must be for them, and to have no help at all, it really is a shame in 2010 that a young child can be murdered like this and a group of people can turn the other cheek in order to keep a University & themselves on a good clean record.

All the parents of kids going to Edinboro University or anyone who has a child that is thinking of attending their, really need to read this story, I bet there would be an outrage. Hell this could be one of their kids…

There is not one recycling program known to man (aside from swallowing saliva) that saves energy, time, or money. "Sustainability" is somewhere in the vague miasma that exists between "fraud" and "racket". "Water-quality monitoring programs" are a joke, complaining about harmless trace elements while the people who operate tax-supported systems add vast quantities of poisonous chlorine and fluorides.

Is sending a child to a school where they are encouraged to wallow in such faddy drivel a kind of intellectual child abuse?

One way to solve the problem is for more white people to commit crimes for which they can be executed. Even more improvements to the statistics would take place if Asians would commit more first degree murders. It's wrong for so few whites, and even wronger for even fewer Asians, to kill people. Since no group of people can possibly be better than another, whites and Asians should be ashamed and begin to do much, much worse than they are.

As it is, people are actually assuming that members of non-Asian minorities can be held responsible for willfully killing people. This is a failure of our education system, which should make it a condition of graduation that no one believe such a thing.

Christ, thanks for posting such great information. As usual, Western Pennsylvania's Daryl Metcalfe is standing firmly for all of us. Glad that Turzai, Ellis, and Stevenson are close, only wish they were closer. They have safe seats, and could join Daryl and the others at the top.

This story got a lot of play on the radio this morning.

I think there's more to be done in Harrisburg than the elimination of Lieutenant Governor. Grove does have a Democrat running against him and perhaps he feels the need to put on a show by suggesting something that's going nowhere anyway. The GOP politicos in the middle of the state have to present an image of wanting to cut spending or make government smaller.

Grove was on the six Republicans voting NO in the 192-6 vote for the union backed pension legislation back in June.

Also NO was Scott Perry from the same general area (92nd District).

I know Perry, who projects a "Patriot" image, is on the short list for GOP 19th District Congressional candidate if Congressman Todd Platts gets that job in Washington that Obama is considering him for.

I wonder if Grove is planning to seek higher office and wants to make a bid for it with this and his earlier conservative vote on the pension bill.

The political animals here are shameful, no core values just try to get elected. (vote for me I'll say whatever you want to hear) The leadership in the republican party need to be replaced, because they have traded their values for what they think will get Rs elected. Conservative Republican values will win the day if they are explained to the people. If you don't believe in those values, why are you leading the party? We need to take the party back. Find a group join the fight.

The problem is that the conservative movement is far from monolithic. We often hear the conservative movement talked about as being a coherent entity, but it is far from it. The only thing holding the factions together is their loathing of the Obama administration, which is a pretty powerful and easily agreeable point. This is why we are not hearing a coherent deficit fighting strategy out of the Republicans. Everyone has their sacred cows and will refuse to slaughter them.

The game here is to put in lots of conservative sounding candidates in to help the moderate ones win. That trick was used a lot this year from state legislative races in PA to congressional races across the country.

Santorum wants to do for Mitt Romney what Fred Thompson did for John McCain in 2008.

Don't you just love this election year talk from the PA Senate Republican leadership that voted for the Mickey Mouse 28 billion dollar budget we have for 2010-2011 and supported the 2009-2010 budget with higher business taxes of 800 million dollars in it.

Stop the election year grandstanding.

Next year with Tom Corbett as governor you better start cutting it down to 25 billion dollars or less in spending and please take action against wasteful spending in public education like the governor in New Jersey has had the courage to do.

I support cutting legislative staff in general.

I believe the number is between 25-hunded and 3 thousand. Take a thousand away with their pay and benefits and so on you must save 50 million dollars.

Cut the 253 legislators pay by 10 percent and you save another 2 million dollars.

I don't see them doing this so why should I vote to re-elect any of them in November.

I'm certainly not voting for my mid-state Republican incumbent in the State House this November.

I love the way Rendell says republican primary voters vote conservative in primaries. I guess that's why McCain won and Romney is already the next annointed establishment candidate.

I find it interesting that the cultural conservative movement is going to divide itself up among several candidates allowing a supposed moderate to sneak up the middle. With people like Santorum, Palin, Huckabee and Pawlenty cutting up the same piece of cake, it is possible someone like Christie or Daniels to sneak up and easily take the race.

This Commonwealth could easily meet its constitutionally required pension obligations if it would cut 1/3 from social welfare programs. $3 billion would put the pension fund on the right track. Seeing we are constitutionally required to provide the pensions via the Contracts Clause and not required to provide social welfare programs, this is a simple solution that would eliminate a significant portion of the nanny state.

The Pocono raceway has the largest solar energy farm in Pennsylvania so it's a winner -- even if half as many people showed up because unemployment is at 9.5%. Wait -- did I say the poor attendance might be related to the poor economy? That can't possibly be! What was I thinking?
